The DC1000 (4RU chassis) and the DC1100 (1RU chassis) are the most compact professional multichannel receivers on the market for customers requiring professional decoding. The platform can be fitted with different decoder modules providing all common output formats making it possible to
tailor the solution to fit the local requirements.
AppearTV’s DC1000(4RU)/DC1100(1RU) can be provided with IP, ASI, DVBS/ S2, DVBT and DVBC input. It is is a dense solution with professional quality for bridging the gap between digital backbone network and analogue cable networks.

Decode and RF Modulation (converting digital services to analog services)
The DC1000/DC1100 eliminates the need to distribute analog channels over the core network; ensuring optimal bandwidth utilization whilst maintaining complete flexibility of local programming. Output options available include composite and RF with built in RF. Modulation and upconversion, including support for Nicam or A2 stereo sound as well as Russian SECAM.

Decoding and Monitoring
Appear TV decoders are available with composite video and balanced stereo audio output making it an ideal solution for downlink and rebroadcast facilities. Typically, the DC1000 can be used for decoding digital services from satellite or terrestrial for rebroadcast as analog terrestrial transmissions, or for reencoding and transmission in to broadband, satellite, terrestrial and mobile networks. The DC1000/DC1100 is also ideal as a compact professional monitoring solution at downlink facilities Appear TVs comprehensive alarm solution can be integrated to third party management systems to provide automatic alarm notification.

Cable FM Radio System
Appear TV FM radio decoders offer cable operators a compact solution for the delivery of radio services. Decoding and FM modulating up to 8 radio services per module makes it possible to provide all required FM channels in a single chassis. The decoded audio is FM modulated and RDS data (UECP SPB490 or static) can be inserted before being up converted to the FM. In addition, these FM radio decoders can be combined with decoders having built-in RF modulation and digital QAM modulator, making them a complete remote head-end for cable operators.

Digital Cable QAM Modulation
The DC1000/DC1100 can also be equipped with digital QAM output or COFDM output modules to deliver the digital subscriber package, enabling operators to manage both analog and digital services within a common platform, through a single user interface.
The QAM Modulator module is part of the platform. It is a compact solution generating 16 QAM frequencies for Cable Networks.

The SC2000(4RU)/SC2100(1RU) is ideal for digital TV broadcast over FTTH, ADSL2+/VDSL and for Cable Operators moving towards IP distribution. The SC2000/SC2100 is also suitable for smaller digital broadcast networks; in the Hospitality Industry and in Corporate or Governmental Offices where Streaming Broadcast TV to PCs is valued for informational and monitoring purposes.

SC2000/SC2100 is a compact solution that allow professional operators to reduce costs removing the need for multiple boxes because these products supports signal reception, descrambling, scrambling and IPstreaming. SC2000/SC2100 can host multiple inputs such as IP, ASI, DVBS/ S2, DVBT and DVBC. The received services can be descrambled using DVB (common interface) or AES with virtual smartcards.It supports full analysis of PSI/SI/PSIP and regenerates all PSI/SI tables as required by the operator.

Professional descrambler and (software based) bulk descrambler
Appear TV’s high performance multiservice descramblers maximize receiver utilization and simplify system design and deployment. Appear TV provides two types of descramblers: one that is CAMbased (DVBCommon Interface) and another for bulk descrambling. The DVBCI based descramblers are capable of descrambling up to 10 DVB scrambled services per CAM. The bulk descrambler, on the other hand, is aimed at softwarebased CA systems. It is used for the descrambling of multiple services protected by one or more CA systems. The bulk descrambler is capable of descrambling up to 250 DVB or AES scrambled services. With support for various CA systems, be it hardwarebased or softwarebased, Appear TV’s descramblers are an efficient, space and energy saving solution.

DVB and AES scrambler
The SC2000/SC2100 support scrambling of all common video encoded formats such as MPEG2 and H.264 both in SD and HD resolution. The scrambler has a dedicated Ethernet interface towards the CA server and is fully DVB Simulcrypt compliant and support scrambling of up to 850 Mbit/s and up to 250 services. The scrambler can be combined with any of the available input, descrambling or output modules, enabling operators to manage services from reception to streaming from on chassis with a single user interface.

The combination of a wide range of input interfaces, descrambling, rescrambling and advanced remultiplexing functionality makes the MC3000/MC3100 ideal for new and existing cable, terrestrial, broadband and satellite operators. The MC3000/MC3100 can be seamlessly integrated with existing headend solutions or used as a regional multiplexer. Via the SNMP Alarm MIB and SOAP/XML interface the multiplexer can be integrated into existing management systems. The MC3000/MC3100 is also suitable for contribution links.

Appear TV’s MC3000/MC3100 multiplexer is a powerful digital multiplexing solution for operators launching or expanding their digital service offering. The MC3000/MC3100 advanced multiplex software simplifies engineers’ deployment and operational routines. Developed with digital cable, terrestrial, satellite and broadband operators in mind, the multiplexer performs full analysis of source PSI/SI and PSIP tables, with automatic regeneration of all tables as required. The high capacity multiplexer has a throughput of 850 Mbit/s and each output card supports 250 services.
Appear TV’s MC3000/MC3100 offers high performance IP, ASI, QAM and COFDM output modules for direct insertion of digital services into a cable, terrestrial or broadband network. Based on architecture with full digitalmodulation and upconversion, the QAM and COFDM output modules deliver clearer signals, and simplify deployment of future enhancements.

Regional Content Insertion
The MC3000 (4RU chassis) and the MC3100 (1RU chassis) are ideal for local content insertion into the IP or QAM network removing the need for contributing it back to the main headend. The modular approach makes it possible to tailor the solution to fit the local requirements. In most cases, all required functionality can be fitted into a single chassis removing the need for complex installation with multiple of boxes and a separate management systems.

EPG Schedule Regenerator
The new Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) module allows a network operator to receive several channel bouquets from multiple sources and reuse the existing EPG information. The EPG will receive EIT tables from any available input automatically. As the operator selects a subset of the received services to be transmitted, the EPG module will automatically lter out unused services and regenerate the EIT schedule to reect the current channel lineup for the selected network. The EIT schedule information is then played out on the selected MPTS output.
Via the GUI, the operator can congure the number of days the EPG information should be played out, the data rate, etc. It is possible to prioritize a higher repetition rate for events that are nearer in time.

Digital Audio Levelling
Appear TV’s Audio Leveling solution enables operators to equalize the audio level of both TV and radio channels originating from various studios, processed with different encoders. This solution lets operators tune the audio level of up to 250 audio tracks individually, within the MPEG domain. The Audio Leveling module supports MPEG1 layer 1 or 2 audio with an adjustment range of +/30 dB.
The proposed solution simplifies the process of equalizing the audio levels of hundreds of channels by eliminating the need to decode and reencode these TV and radio channels prior to transmitting them.

Appear TV’s holistic approach is built upon a single software core capable of handling failures on both inputs and outputs. Appear TV’s redundancy offers operators using IP for video distribution significant quality of service benefits and improved network efficiency. The system provides automatic backup in case of service stream failure on an operator’s network, without requiring complex control software.
IP output redundancy
The IP output redundancy system presents a network with multiple sources from which it is possible to obtain the same service.
IP Input redundancy
IP Input redundancy is designed to monitor failures external to Appear TV systems that may be indicated by link loss or the absence of a bitrate. The Appear TV chassis is configured with two IP input modules, one configured to serve as the main module, and the other as backup. In the event of input source failure, the IP input source is switched automatically.
Internal Redundancy
The DC1000 chassis provides an advanced, selfcontained, input redundancy solution. The system is based upon 1+1 redundancy of the input module, switch module and backplane.
